Where I get free content for Yoto MYO

So you’ve been enjoying your Yoto player for a while, and one of the reasons you chose this player is the ability to make your own cards. Recording your own audio is fun and thoughtful, but where can you get readily available free content?

In this post, I will share not just where I get them, but also recommendations on which shows or music my 3-year-old daughter has enjoyed in the past year (with links!).

YouTube Music

This is our main source of music. I haven’t tried downloading shows from here because Audiovault is perfect for that (see next section). YouTube Music is often overlooked over Youtube but I hate the intros and outros that are added to YouTube videos! In YouTube Music, you get high-quality music without the added fuss.

Before, I just use those youtube-to-mp3 downloaders from the web. But I discovered a free desktop app called Stacher that makes downloading convenient, especially YouTube playlists.

The issue with YouTube is that there are often duplicates of the same song. So you should go straight to the artist’s page to get the official songs.

Here are my recommendations (most of these links will direct you to the YouTube music artist page):

  1. Numberblocks
  2. Gabby’s Dollhouse
  3. Frozen Soundtrack
  4. Sago Mini Friends Soundtrack
  5. Peppa Pig Soundtrack
  6. Hey Duggee Soundtrack
  7. Bluey Soundtrack

    Audiovault

Audiovault.net is my most used website for free content. You just need to make a free account, and then you can download a whole season of a TV show with just one click (it downloads a zip file with all the episodes). So convenient! There are also movies in there but we prefer the TV shows, for now.

This nonprofit website is designed to make content accessible to blind people—which means that the track includes audio description or narration. It’s like your TV show is turned into an audiobook.

My recommendations (the link should direct you to the search results for that show, then, you just click “Download” for each season):

    1. Gabby’s Dollhouse
    2. Octonauts
    3. True and the Rainbow Kingdom
    4. Paw Patrol
    5. Sesame Street
    6. Molly of Denali
    7. Peppa Pig
    8. Bluey
    9. Hey Duggee
    10. Batwheels
    11. Ada Twist, Scientist

    Internet Archive

Lastly, we have archive.org. I have only downloaded Frog and Toad from this website so, I just compiled some recommendations from Reddit (scroll down a bit and look for Download Options then click VBR MP3):

    1. Frog and Toad
    2. Beatrix Potter Collection
    3. Curious George
    4. The Cat In The Hat
    5. Horton Hears A Who!
    6. Scrambled Eggs Super
    7. The Lorax
    8. Thomas the Tank Engine Surprise Adventures
    9. The Mr. Men
    10. Hairy Maclary
